You were born in Texas. How long did you live there and what is your fondest memory of that time?

I lived altogether almost 10 years in the US, my parents are German, and I was born in El Paso, Texas as my father was stationed there as an air force officer responsible for the German Air Defense at that time. My fondest memories are our regular travels (3-4 weeks several times / year) with our big station car (where I used to sleep in the trunk during those long hours on the road with no safety belts....). We stayed where we liked it (with no plans) and this way we really got to know the US and parts of Mexico.

When and why did you decide to set up a relocation agency?

20 years ago, I started working as a relocation agent, and that actually was my only intention: to work as an independent consultant. But then one by one, as more orders came in, I started bundling services and hired more and more employees. The very lovely side is that we still work for customers and with partners and also employees, since then

Describe your area of responsibility at the company in two sentences.

I am responsible for acquisition and representation and as well for personnel management

What’s your best advice for your transferees?

When arriving with children, I would recommend giving them time before school or kindergarten starts, to settle in and get to know their new home.

It can be a bit overwhelming to go into school and / or kindergarten right after arrival and especially if there is a new language for these children

Interesting fact about you?

I have become addicted to winter swimming in our river Havel and the Baltic Sea.
